Towing Software Implementation Checklist for Tow Companies

Switching towing software does not have to be disruptive. With the right preparation, most operators are fully live on a new platform within 1-3 days.

Use this checklist to structure your implementation.

Phase 1: Pre-Launch Setup (Day 1)

Company Setup

• • Company name, contact info, and address configured
• • Billing settings: COD rates, motor club configuration
• • Branch locations added (if multi-location)

Driver Setup

• • Driver profiles created with contact details and CDL info
• • Commission rules configured per driver
• • Document expiry dates entered (CDL, medical cert, insurance)
• • Driver logins created and tested

Truck Setup

• • Truck profiles added with equipment type
• • Insurance and inspection documents uploaded
• • Truck assigned to branch

Motor Club Configuration

• • Motor clubs connected (AAA, Agero, GEICO ERS, etc.)
• • Dispatch numbers and coverage templates configured
• • Payment terms and billing contacts added

Phase 2: Team Training (Day 1-2)

Dispatcher Training

• • Walk through job intake workflow
• • Practice driver assignment and GPS tracking view
• • Review motor club job workflow
• • Review COD job workflow
• • Practice end-of-shift reconciliation

Driver Training

• • Drivers log in to mobile portal
• • Walk through accepting a job notification
• • Practice status update flow
• • Test digital waiver collection
• • Practice photo upload

Phase 3: First Live Jobs (Day 2-3)

• • Process first few jobs with a dispatcher supervisor watching
• • Verify motor club billing data is capturing correctly
• • Confirm GPS tracking is working for all drivers
• • Run first COD settlement for a shift

Phase 4: Full Cutover

• • Confirm all team members are comfortable with the platform
• • Shut down old system (or run parallel for first week)
• • Export any historical data you need for records
